Hapkido is a Korean martial art with striking and grappling techniques. It has a lot in common with its sister arts of Taekwondo (Korea’s more popular martial arts export, which focuses on striking, especially flexible kicking) and Japanese Aiki-Jujutsu (an energetic form of Jujutsu from which Aikido evolved, which focuses on grappling, especially wrist-locks and throwing).
