Taekkyeon – the ancient Korean art of kicking & tripping

Taekkyeon is an old, native Korean martial art, dating back to the late 1700s. It literally means “Kick, Trip”, and as such, is the Art of Kicking and Tripping.

Alongside Japanese Aiki-Jujutsu, Taekkyeon was joint origin of the more modern yet still traditional Korean martial art of Hapkido, and – to a lesser extent – the even more modern Korean martial art of Taekwondo.
